Lack of Supportive Environments for Mental Health Conversations

Learning and understanding the mental health challenges faced by us and the people around us is difficult. The stigma, lack of information and inaccessibility to aid makes the process even more difficult. There is an imminent need to normalise conversation around mental health. Mental health is an important aspect of everyone’s wellbeing. We all have our struggles. Not talking about issues creates a void that gets filled with uncertainty and lack of knowledge. This then fuels stigma. When we deal with our mental health issues or are someone else’s support system, it can become difficult to empathise because we have grown up in a society that suppresses such issues.
